Fall 2026 Update

Hello and welcome, Norwegian all you elkhound lovers! We’re busy here but I thought to be fair I should come out of the silence and provide a short update. We are still receiving inquiries from folks interested in puppies, and appreciate the interest, but as it stands presently, we have no puppies to offer and don’t know when that will change.

The thing is, we never were a large “industrial” kennel, and have no aspirations of being such. We have always had an Elkhound or a few around since 2010, but have kept our number of dogs small enough that all of them can be our family pets and guardians. This helps us have a personal touch with all our dogs, and ensures the puppies we sell are well socialized with our children. But it also means that we are going to have times when litters are more uncertain.

Our last litter of puppies was in the fall of 2023. It was becoming obvious then already that Koda and Missy were aging. (Tessa only ever had one litter of pups, back in 2020.) We knew by that fall of ’23 that we wouldn’t likely have more puppies until we purchased younger dogs again — and we weren’t sure how our dogs would take to newcomers on their territory. Koda especially would not welcome another male. But we’re not going to displace him: we’re keeping Koda, and that’s that! He was born on our farm and has been a wonderful guard dog and fun companion for over 12 years now. We plan to take very good care of him til he’s gone. So we find ourselves in a time when our dogs are aging and we haven’t yet brought in younger blood.

We would be open to leads for young high-quality elkhounds, so feel free to reach out to us if you know of something. Thanks again for visiting, and if you are looking for a puppy to adopt, we apologize that we are unable to help and wish you all the best in your search.
